When we read The American Dream, though I didn't understand it through a first reading, the gold mine of meanings didn't change to much how much I liked it. I liked it when we started reading and I liked it when we set it aside. For Ceremony it's bit different. I didn't really like it on a first read, I just appreciated it. Now though, after digging in I love it! The biggest impression that this book is leaving on me is its use of humor. It's so similar to my sense of humor (for better or for worse) that it's hard not to connect with it, even though it centers around a Laguna Native American, which I am neither.
Though there's a lot of down time in discussions it's still fun trying to piece the novel together. And the multiple choice test for this AP is going to be ridiculous
